General Class Information

All of Phases classes have been designed for apparently healthy individuals. They will involve activities both on and around the equipment including static poses, dynamic moves and eventually inversions. The sessions have been designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, confidence, balance and general fluidity of movement. All sessions begin with appropriate warm ups and finish with a cool down incorporating stretches to improve mobility.

All activities will be demonstrated and explained to you during the session. If at any point you feel you should not participate in part of the session please notify your instructor.

With any exercise activity there will be an element of risk, such as feeling tired and achy muscles. With Pole and Aerial classes there is the additional risk of bruising or burning which is caused by friction between the equipment and the skin and possibly compression bruising due to the wrapping of the equipment (trapeze, silks and hammocks) around different parts of the body. It is also possible to experience some motion sickness and/or dizziness when you first start Pole and Aerial classes due to the movement of the equipment. This will usually reduce over time with prolonged practice. This session has been designed in a way to minimise the risks involved. If at any time during the session you feel excessive discomfort you should stop the activity and inform your instructor.

Class Terms and Conditions
Most classes at Phases are 1 hour in length unless otherwise advertised- workshops for example can be longer. In most classes we have a max of 2 people sharing. The only exceptions to this are the Purely Pole Dance and Hammock classes where you will have your own piece of equipment. For Stretch and Yoga classes we will provide mats and other useful items such as straps or cushions but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Booking
All of Phases classes/courses are booked on a first come first served basis.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking as early as possible because our classes can be very popular and can fill up quickly.

Phases reserves the right to cancel any class if necessary. If this occurs, then you will not be charged for the class and any monies paid or class credits used will be added to your booking account as credit to be used against an alternative class.

All classes are subject to sufficient numbers.

Payment
As spaces are limited in all of our classes, we require full payment in advance to guarantee spaces.

All payments are non-refundable. Should you wish to amend a booking Phases requires 24 hours notice prior to the start of the booked class to amend that booking. After this point all bookings are non-transferrable.

Once a class has been booked and paid for, reimbursement for a lack of attendance is not offered.

As Phases is a small, self-funded entity, we cannot afford non-payment. Please be advised that we will seek legal advice for non-payment of fees.

Lateness and Absence
On your first class please arrive 15 minutes before the start of class so that we may show you around. Thereafter please make sure you arrive 10 minutes before the start of class so that you are ready to start on time.
If you struggle with anxiety or any other condition that affects your ability to come into a new place please get in touch in advance and we will arrange to either come outside to meet you and bring you in or some other method to help you access our space.

If you arrive late you will not be allowed to participate and will not receive a refund for that class.

Non-attendance of a class will result in the loss of that class and any monies paid or class pack credits used.

Cancellation
We require a minimum of 24 hours notice before a booked class to cancel your class and return the credit for that class to your account on our booking system. For cancellations within the 24hours before the class begins you will not receive the credit for that class.

General Rules
Phases operate a friendly studio where everyone should feel welcome and comfortable, we do not tolerate any bullying or unpleasantness in our classes towards either our students or staff. If anyone is in breach of this then they will be asked to leave the class and will not be entitled to a refund.

Prior to your first class you will be required to complete a short health form (PAR Q) this is to ensure your safety when you are training. This is sent out to you via email after you have made your first booking. Please ensure this is completed before you attend your first session. If our instructors have any concerns based on this they may request that you get approval for training by your GP first. In the rare event that Phases instructors feel that it would be detrimental to your health to complete the class they will either recommend an alternative or refund your money. If you have any questions or concerns about this just ask a member of our team.

Participants should wear the appropriate clothing for class. For Aerial this would be tight fitting bottoms such as leggings, a long sleeved top or t-shirt. This also includes bare feet or socks and the removal of jewellery including watches, bracelets and dangly earrings. For Pole this would be similar to start and then as you progress you will need to wear shorts. You will be told a week in advance when you will need to wear shorts.

Valuables should be left at home. Phases accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal items brought into the studio.

Water and a small hand towel would be useful.

We request that mobile phones are on silent mode for the duration of class.
To avoid injury we request that you only use the equipment as directed by your instructors.

We ask that you familiarise yourselves with our emergency procedures and location of exits, fire extinguishers and first aid kit. These will be pointed out on your first session.

Phases is a no smoking/no vaping environment. We request that you leave the premises should you need to smoke/vape.

Phases do not allow any alcohol, drugs or other mind altering substances onto the premises. Should anyone be found to be in breach of this rule you will be required to leave with no refund. Also, none of these should be consumed prior to class. If our instructors have any concerns about a participant’s capability to train safely they will asked to leave with no refund.

Filming and Photography
Whilst we are happy for you to take photos and videos of yourself during class, we ask that you do this when the instructor is not teaching. Also, please make the class aware that you are filming/taking photographs and make sure anyone that may be in the background is aware so that they can move if they do not wish to be in the background. If your taking photos or filming is disruptive to the class then we will ask you to stop, e.g. if it is preventing others from training as they are trying to avoid being filmed or photographed.

Any questions regarding any part of the session are welcome or if you have any concerns or doubts please voice these and ask for further explanation. You are free to withdraw from the session at any point.

By ticking confirm to this waiver when booking you agree to the following:-
You will not consume any mind altering substances before class.
You won’t come to class within 48 hours after having botox before an Aerial class.
You will inform the instructor of any changes in circumstances to your health.
You will arrive 10 minutes before class starts.
You will perform moves only as instructed to.
You will remove all rings, watches and jewellery or cover them over so that they do not catch on anything.
