All courses at Phases Pole and Aerial Studio are 6 weeks in length, except for junior courses which may be longer depending on the length of the term. This means that you will get 1 one hour session of pole or aerial training per week at the same time each week.
In some instances, Bank Holidays for example, your course will be pushed back by a week so that you still receive all 6 classes. This will be shown on the booking system.
Booking
All of Phases Pole and Aerial Studio courses are booked on a first come first served basis.
Participants share equipment with two per pole/silks/hoop/trapeze (except for hammock where you get your own), unless the class is quiet in which case you may have your own piece of equipment. Sharing equipment provides students with the chance for a short rest between moves and we advise students to ensure they still take short rest breaks even if they are not sharing.
To avoid disappointment we recommend booking as early as possible because our courses can be very popular and can fill up quickly.
If a participant is under the age of 18 then parental consent is required prior to the start of the first lesson. A parent or guardian will need to come into the studio to complete this form prior to the first lesson.
In the event of your chosen course being fully booked we will endeavour to offer alternative days or start dates.
Phases Pole and Aerial Studio reserve the right to cancel any course if necessary. If this occurs then you will not be charged for the course and any monies paid will be added to your Momence account as credit to be used against an alternative course. Should you choose a more expensive course then the difference will need to be paid.
Course are subject to sufficient numbers.
Courses can only be redeemed by one person and they cannot be split between other parties.
Payment
As spaces are limited in all of our courses, we require full payment in advance to guarantee spaces.
All payments are non-refundable. Should you wish to amend a booking, Phases requires 14 days notice prior to the start of the booked course to amend that booking. After this point all bookings are non-transferrable.
Once a course has been booked and paid for, reimbursement for a lack of attendance is not offered.
As Phases is a small, self-funded entity, we cannot afford non-payment. Please be advised that we will seek legal advice for non-payment of fees.
Lateness and Absence
On your first class please arrive 10 minutes before the start of class so that we may show you around. Thereafter please make sure you arrive 5 minutes before the start of class so that you are ready to start on time.
If you know you are going to be late please contact Phases on 07791177431/07402874611 to let us know.
If you arrive late it is at the discretion of the instructor as to whether or not you will be allowed to participate.
If you arrive 10 minutes or more late you will not be allowed to participate and will not receive a refund for that class.
Non-attendance of an individual class will result in the loss of that class.
When booking a course you are not entitled to catch up classes should you not attend an individual class. It is at the discretion of the management to allow a catch up class to be taken and only if the following criteria are met.
- 1 weeks notice must be given for the absence from class. Catch up classes will not be agreed upon after the absence has taken place, they must be agreed a minimum of 1 week prior to the absence.
- You have checked on the booking system to see which classes have the space possible to accommodate you and you can then inform the management of these so that a suitable day and time may be agreed upon.
- The class must be taken within the 6 week course period during which the absence will occur. You will not be able to carry a class forward to a future course period.
General Rules
Phases operate a friendly studio where everyone should feel welcome and comfortable, we do not tolerate any bullying or unpleasantness in our classes towards either our students or staff. If anyone is in breach of this then they will be asked to leave the class.
Prior to your first class you will be required to complete a small physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR Q) this is to ensure your safety when you are training. This is done on the booking system at the time of booking. If our instructors have any concerns based on this they may request that you get approval for training by your GP first. In the rare event that Phases instructors feel that it would be detrimental to your health to complete the course they will either recommend an alternative or refund your money. If you have any questions or concerns about this just ask a member of our team.
Participants should wear the appropriate clothing for class. For pole this would be jogging bottoms or leggings and eventually shorts and a vest or t-shirt. For aerial this would be tight fitting bottoms such as leggings, a long sleeved top or t-shirt and leg warmers or long socks to start. This also includes suitable footwear and the removal of jewellery including rings, watches, bracelets and dangly earrings.
Please bring a drink with you, bottles of water are available for a small fee. A small hand towel may be useful too.
We request that mobile phones are on silent mode for the duration of class.
To avoid injury we request that you only use the equipment as directed by your instructors.
We ask that you familiarise yourselves with our emergency procedures and location of exits, fire extinguishers and first aid kit. These will be pointed out on your first session.
Phases Pole and Aerial Studio is a no smoking environment. Anyone found to be breaching this will be fined £200. We request that you leave the premises should you need to smoke.
Phases do not allow any alcohol, drugs or other mind altering substances onto the premises. Should anyone be found to be in breach of this rule you will be required to leave with no refund. Also, none of these should consumed prior to class. If our instructors have any concerns about a participants capability to train safely they will asked to leave with no refund.
Filming and Photography
Whilst we are happy for you to take photos and videos of yourself during class, we ask that you do this when the instructor is not teaching. Also please make the class aware that you are filming/taking photographs and make sure anyone that may be in the background is aware so that they can move if they do not wish to be in the background. If your taking photos or filming is disruptive to the class then we will ask you to stop, e.g. If it is preventing others from training as they are trying to avoid being filmed or photographed.
